Who does not want to train like the King of Basketball? Lebron James an American basketball player for The Los Angeles Lakers, a nationwide sensation of top high school player in the country and two Olympic gold medals seizing four times NBA champion along with four times the most valuable player of NBA and countless other awards.
And if you’re a true fan of the NBA there’s no way that you’ve not been inspired by the physique of this athlete. He’s a true fitness inspiration and undoubtedly one of the best Basketball players that ever lived. So how does this great athlete train and eat?
Background
The worldwide sensational star was born in Akron, Ohio in 1984. Started his career at St Mary High School in his hometown where he was heavily touted for the NBA future. He was selected by the Cleveland cavalier in the 2003 draft and received the rookie of the year award at the youngest age of 20. With achieving an average of 20 points per game as a rookie making him among only, Micheal Jordan and Oscar Robertson.
He professionally continued his career and modestly increased his average to 27.2 points per game but in 2006 he once again broke the NBA record and became the youngest player to score a milestone of more than 50 points in a game.
Later in his career, he played for Miami Heat and returned to the Cavaliers in 2014 and currently being signed by The Los Angeles Lakers since 2018.
Diet Plan
The four-time NBA champion became a source of inspiration when he was reportedly spending more than $1 million on his body annually and taking goals to next level. He always tried to achieve his physical goals by changing his diet plan and treated his body as an investment for his career and once told in an interview that he doesn’t eat sugar, carbs, or dairy for straight 67 days in a single summer making him lose weight significantly to achieve his desirable physical body. This was too extreme and suggested to be dangerous and unnecessary but to him, it was the right way to achieve the physical goals with his diet plan removing a whole part of nutrition from the diet.
While health specialist doesn’t recommend what LeBron did, But still, there are ways to make a healthy living out of his diet.
Breakfast
- His usual breakfast includes many varieties of main and side dishes it includes a veggie omelet with sides of turkey bacon along with fresh fruits and sweet potatoes
- Another of his favorite combination is a wheat toast topped with peanut butter or almond butter, blueberries, banana, and other sliced fruits with greek yogurt
- Whole grain muffin, low-fat yogurt, fresh fruits smoothie with the main course of egg sandwich and avocado
Lunch
- Grilled chicken and spinach salad with veggies and olive oil dressing with the sides of fresh fruits or berries, apples, and oranges as toppings
- Whole-grain or spouted whole-grain wheat bread turkey sandwich with toppings like avocado, yellow mustard, and tomatoes along with a side salad or fresh fruit salad
Dinner
- chicken or salmon baked or grilled with sides of steamed vegetables, the toppings of squeezed limes juice and olive oil and seasoned with dried herbs like chipotle pepper and paprika
- whole wheat tortilla with chicken or shrimps, avocado and shredded vegetables with salsa or chile peppers, toppings include low-fat greek yogurt
Workout
Along with his diet plan, LeBron focuses on his extreme fitness through well-structured training. He prefers supersets executed with his daily workout to minimize the rest period and increase his strength and endurance. He has a four-day workout routine with the other days consisting of a rest day, recovery workout, and yoga.

If you’re planning to workout like a star athlete or trying to get ripped you must have consistent behavior but implicating LeBron’s workout routine is a tough challenge. It consists of 4 days of workout with each day focusing on specific strength and portion of the body each day starting off with jogging to increase heart rate and prepare the body for the next workout with only one-minute rest.
Day 1
- 5 minutes warmup jog on the treadmill
- 6 superset of strength training
- 3 set forearm planks each 60 second
- 3 set sidearm plank each 60 second
- 3 set of 30 pushups
- 3 sets of 12 pullups
- 3 sets of Dumbell snatches
- 1 set of the arm cable row

Day 2
First half
- 5 minutes warmup jog on the treadmill
- 3 set swiss ball ab rollout
- 3 set of 30 reps of swiss ball ab crunch
- 3 set of planks on a swiss ball
Second half
- Each of 3 set 10 rep of dumbbell squat
- Swiss ball hamstring
- Dumbbell step-up
- Single-leg dumbbell calf raise
- Finishing off with 20 minutes cardio session on a stationary bike
Day 3
First half
- 5 minutes warmup jog on the treadmill
- 6 sets of planks with side planks
- 3 sets of ab plate twist
- 3 set of air bicycle with 20 rep
Second half
- 3 sets of 10 reps each
- Incline dumbbell bench press
- Wide-grip lat pulldown
- One-arm dumbbell military press
- One-arm dumbbell row
- Finishing off with 20 minutes cardio session on a stationary bike
Day 4
First half
- 5 minutes warmup jog on the treadmill
- 3 sets of bench knee pull-in
- Cable crunches of 12 rep
Second half
- Single leg squat 10 rep
- One-leg hamstring curl
- Dumbbell side lunge
